We are located on the Nicoya Peninsula, specifically in the Mal País area, surrounded by lush vegetation and just steps away from paradise-like beaches. Here, you can enjoy a unique natural environment with easy access for both surfing enthusiasts and those seeking a tranquil retreat in the heart of the Costa Rican jungle.
Transfer to Accommodation
- From San Jose (Denny’s Restaurant) to La Posada 6:30 am aprox and 3 pm aprox (around 6 hours)
- From Cuatro Vientos to San Jose (San Jose Airport) 6:30 am aprox and 3:30 pm aprox (around 6 hours)
- From Liberia Airport to Cuatro Vientos 12:30 pm aprox (around 6 hours )

At Cuatro Vientos, we are a large community with friendly social hosts who make sure you don’t feel lonely, even if you are traveling alone. All spaces within Cuatro Vientos have free Wi-Fi open to all guests. We also have Coworking areas and a quiet environment for concentration and inspiration during your work time. On some occasions, depending on the work environment, it could happen that the power goes out. In that case we have a team to continue with the internet signal for 1 more hour.
Of course, here you will have the option to enjoy time in solitude and also, if you wish, to connect with other people.
The average age of guests varies. Most of our guests are between 25 and 60 years old. And there are surf lessons for all ages. The people who come to Cuatro Vientos have more to do with a shared attitude, experiences and perspectives than with age. If you stay with us, you’re likely to make great friends, regardless of your date of birth.
No problem at all! Our Surfcamps are perfect for beginners and so are the locations we select. Our team of surf coaches will start with the basics, teaching you everything you need to know to catch your first wave safely and confidently.
To confirm the booking of the packages or surfcamps, an initial non-refundable deposit equivalent to the 30% of the total package.
The remaining balance must be paid no later than 14 days prior to check-in.
– If the client decides to cancel before this deadline, the booking will be entitled to a
refund of the amount paid, excluding the 30% non-refundable deposit.
– If the remaining balance is not received within this period, the booking will be cancelled
automatically without the right to refund the deposit.
Cancellations made more than 30 days before check-in:
– The amount paid will be refunded, minus the initial non-refundable deposit.
– Cancellations made between 29 and 14 days before check-in:
– 50% of the total paid (excluding the initial deposit) will be refunded.
– Cancellations made less than 14 days before check-in:
– There will be no refund.
In Costa Rica we have 2 seasons: rainy (May to November) and dry (December to April).
The rainy season offers other options to enjoy and although during the day you can appreciate the sun, during the night is when it rains the most. There are waves all year round which we believe that whether you come in the rainy season or dry season you will have incredible options to enjoy the Costa Rican jungle. Really the weather is not an impediment to come and tour. We have specialized packages for the different times of the year.
The answers below apply to North America, most of Europe and Australia. It is always recommended to check with your embassy to double check your personal situation before traveling.
For all destinations:
Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your departure date.
You must have a return ticket or onward ticket to another country; otherwise, you may be denied boarding.
COSTA RICA:
Most nationalities can enter Costa Rica visa-free for a stay of up to 90 days. Proof of onward travel and a passport valid for at least six months are typically required.
This depends on personal preferences but honestly not much as its super easy to pull out money from local ATM’s.
Here are a few things you might need cash money for:
-Local gifts for friends and family.
-Tips. While tipping is not mandatory, it is highly appreciated and to the discretion of each traveller. If you want to tip, we will collect cash money for surf coaches, cleaning and cooking staff members.
Most of the extras you may want to add to your experience can easily be paid for via credit card, PayPal, or bank transfer.
We recommend our clients to get quality travel insurance with a well-known company: Blue-Cross, Manulife, Escapade, RBC, TravelGuard, etc. This insurance should also include coverage for adventure activities such as surfing, ensuring you are protected throughout your journey with us.
Lots of credit cards offer coverage for short holidays. We advise you to check with your bank beforehand.
Date changes are subject to availability and must be requested with at least 14
days in advance.
Once the change is accepted, the initial deposit will be applied to the new date.
Only one date change is allowed without penalty. Additional changes will be subject to
an administrative charge of 10% of the total package.
